Paint Spot Announces October classes – register now!
October, a promising month at The Paint Spot, if you are interested in acrylic, watercolour, oil, calligraphy, drawing, painting, or papermaking! Join us for at least one of our brilliant classes, won’t you?
1. Sharon Hazen conquers all doubt with Watercolour Flowers the Easy Way. If you think you can`t paint in watercolour, think again. In Sharon`s classes you find yourself learning while you have fun. Saturday, October 3, 10AM-4PM; cost: $ 60 + GST + Supply List.
2. On Friday, October 2, Golden Artist Educator Samantha Williams-Chapelsky gives an exciting Lecture-Demo about the 1,001 things you can do with Golden Acrylic. Not to be missed! The $ 10 you pay keeps a seat for you, and you get it back as a coupon to spend on art supplies. Limited seating.
3. On Sunday, October 4, 12-5PM, you will be able to put what you learn on Friday into practice. Samantha`s class, Hands-On with Golden!, will explore a number of ideas and techniques for the acrylic artist. $ 60 + GST + Supply List.
4. Tuesday evenings in October you can draw from the model with Chris Jugo. Use your preferred drawing/painting materials and draw many poses of various durations. Male, female models; limited seating. October 6, 13, 20 & 27, 6-9PM. $ 15/session; 4 sessions, $ 60.
5. Thursday evenings, Oksana Zhelisko leads the oil practitioners in Painting a Child’s Portrait. This 4-week series will help you to paint a lively, endearing child, from your choice of photos. 6. Jan Fraser returns with her ever-popular Acrylic/Watercolour Textures in Painting, Saturday, October 17, 10AM-4PM. Even the experiences painter will learn some clever tricks, and everyone will take home studies and a small finished painting. $ 60 + $ 20 Supply Fee + GST.
7. Jeanine Alexander, a skilled teacher and calligrapher, brings a new dimension to calligraphy with Beauty & the Brush, Sunday, October 18, 12-5PM. Develop your own style of beautiful brush lettering by completing several creative assignments. $ 60 + GST + Supply List.
8. Join Pauline Ulliac for an Acrylic Weekend Retreat with a new emphasis: Colour Mixing. Every painter benefits by learning how to use colour. Pauline’s class will be super-informative and super-practical for the acrylic painter, with a focus on all aspects of colour in landscape painting in particular. 9. If you’ve always wanted to make paper, now is your opportunity as Julie Drew leads you through the steps in Papermaking. Make your paper unique by incorporating your choice of elements. You will create 10 to 15 sheets of paper – and have a lot of fun in the process. Saturday, October 31, 10Am-4PM; $ 60 + $ 20 Supply Fee + GST.
